CBI has arrested Uday Kumar, Senior GM of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh from an official of Mumbai-based company KEC International. This bribe was allegedly being given in exchange for passing the agreement made with KEC International and Power Grid Corporation and the bill related to it. DGM Suman Singh of KEC International company has also been arrested by CBI. 

KEC International was also made an accused

Officials said that five persons and KEC International company have been named as accused in the FIR. KEC International's vice president and north India head Jabraj Singh is among the accused named in the FIR. No immediate response could be obtained from the company. 

The CBI had registered the case on March 19

On March 19, the CBI had registered a case against 06 accused including Mumbai based private company KEC International Limited, Senior General Manager of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited posted in Ajmer, four representatives of KEC International Limited company and unknown others. It is alleged that the accused officials of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited were taking bribe from the accused representatives of KEC International Limited and helping them in getting undue benefits in passing the bills.

After receiving such a complaint, the CBI started laying a trap. As soon as the bribe transaction started, the CBI team caught the accused Senior General Manager of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited red handed while accepting the bribe.
