New Delhi. Sawan 2024: The month of Sawan is very dear to Mahadev, the God of Gods. According to religious belief, by doing special worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati in Sawan, the person gets the blessings of happiness and prosperity. Along with this, happiness comes in life. During the worship in this month, the Shivling should be anointed properly. By doing this, Mahadev is soon pleased. It is said that water should not be offered on Shivling in the evening (Shivling Puja in evening). Let us know the reason behind this.
Rules for Shivling Puja
- While offering water to Shivling, one should not stand facing east. Shivling should be facing east.
- According to Sanatan scriptures, it is considered auspicious to stand facing south while offering water to Shivling, because the person's face will be towards north. This direction is considered the direction of gods and goddesses.
- Copper, silver and bronze vessels should be used to offer water to the Shivlinga.
