The new moon of the month of Ashwin is also known as Sarvapitre Amavasya. It is believed that on this day the ancestors return to Pitrulok. In such a situation, if you do some special work on this day, then the ancestors return satisfied.

The Amavasya date of Ashwin month is starting on October 01, 2024 at 09:39 pm. At the same time, the Amavasya date is going to end on October 03 at 12:18 pm. In such a situation, Sarvapitre Amavasya will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 02. The auspicious time on this day is going to be as follows-

• Kutup Muhurta - from 11:46 am to 12:34 pm
• Rauhin Muhurta - from 12:34 pm to 01:21 pm
• Afternoon period - from 01:21 PM to 03:43 PM

Must do this work (Sarva Pitru Amavasya Last Day Rituals)

On the day of Sarvapitri Amavasya, wake up early in the morning and take a bath in a holy river. If this is not possible, then you can take a bath at home by mixing Gangajal in the water. Also, perform tarpan and pinddaan for the ancestors. To get the blessings of the ancestors, definitely take out food for cows, dogs, crows and ants on this day. Also, feed the Brahmins and send them off by giving donations according to your capacity.

Remedies related to Peepal tree

It is considered auspicious to worship the Peepal tree on the day of Sarva Pitru Amavasya (Sarva Pitru Amavasya 2024 Significance), because this tree is believed to be the abode of ancestors. Along with this, do seven rounds of the Peepal tree and light a mustard oil lamp under the tree by putting black sesame seeds in it. Along with this, you can also plant a Peepal tree outside a temple on this day. Keep in mind that the Peepal plant should never be planted inside the house. You can also plant a Tulsi plant in the name of ancestors on this day.
