Sanjauli Mosque Latest Update: The Muslim community has challenged the decision of the Municipal Commissioner's court in the Sanjauli Mosque case in Himachal Pradesh's capital Shimla. This challenge has been given in the district court. The hearing in this case is to be held on November 6.
The Muslim community of Himachal Pradesh has challenged the decision of the Municipal Commissioner's Court in the District Court on the basis that Mohammad Latif is not authorized to file an affidavit as the President of Sanjauli Mosque Committee. The sentiments of many people are attached to this building, so their side should also be heard in this entire matter. Nazakat Hashmi, spokesperson of the Muslim community who filed the petition, said that now the hearing in this matter is to be held on November 6.
The work of removing the roof from Sanjauli Mosque is complete
The work of removing the illegal portion of the Sanjauli Masjid Committee started on 21st October. A large part of the roof has been removed by the Sanjauli Masjid Committee. However, later this work was stopped citing lack of funds.
On October 5, the Municipal Commissioner's court had ordered to demolish the second, third and fourth floors in two months. Earlier, a letter was written to the Municipal Commissioner on September 11 on behalf of the Sanjauli Mosque Committee.
It was said in this letter that they are ready to demolish that part of the mosque which is being termed as illegal. After this, the court of the Chairman Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation ordered to demolish the second, third and fourth floor of the mosque on 5 October. The Sanjauli Mosque Committee has to bear the cost of this entire work itself. No financial help is being given by the Waqf Board to demolish the part of the mosque which is being termed as illegal.
Himachal Pradesh High Court has also given orders to settle the matter
On 21 October, the petition of the local people was heard in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. During this hearing, Justice Sandeep Sharma of the Himachal Pradesh High Court has asked the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to settle the complaint in eight weeks. This complaint was given to the Shimla Municipal Corporation by the local people in the year 2010, in which it has been said that there is illegal construction on the land.
After the initial hearing of the case, Justice Sandeep Sharma, while disposing of the petition with the consent of all the parties, ordered the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to dispose of the complaint related to the mosque in 2010 within eight weeks. In this complaint, MC Shimla himself is the complainant.
