UP Politics: The troubles of Samajwadi Party MLA Zahid Beg in Bhadohi, UP are increasing. The team of Labor Enforcement Department and Police, along with the Naib Tehsildar, raided his residence and recovered a minor girl engaged in child labor. Earlier on Monday, the body of a minor girl, a domestic help, was recovered from the house of the SP MLA in suspicious circumstances. After which there has been an uproar.
Zahid Beg is a two-time MLA from Bhadohi assembly seat. On Monday, the body of a 17-year-old minor girl, who had been working as a domestic help for 7 years, was found hanging from a noose at his residence. After which, on Tuesday, the administration team raided the house of the SP MLA and recovered a teenager working as a domestic help late in the evening.
During the investigation, Superintendent of Police Dr. Meenakshi Katyayan found another minor girl at the SP MLA
's house. She told that she has been doing domestic work at the MLA's house for the last eight years. After which, a joint team of the Labor Department, Naib Tehsildar and Police, along with the force, freed the minor without any noise and took her to the city police station. After this, the girl was handed over to a female police personnel at the One Stop Center located at the Collectorate.
It is said that the minor girl was doing domestic work at the residence of the SP MLA for a long time. Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Chairman PC Upadhyay said that the minor maid has been medically examined by the police and administration team. The Child Welfare Committee Chairman said that the recovered girl was presented before the Child Welfare Committee at midnight and has been sent to the One Stop Center for a day due to other legal work remaining in the related case.
An attempt was made to talk on camera with the labour department and police administration regarding the recovery of child labourers from SP MLA Zahid Beg's house but they refused. The police investigation in this high profile case is also going on at a very slow pace. Many questions are being raised about this.
