Lucknow/Prayagraj. Former BJP MLA Udaybhan Karvariya: Former BJP MLA Udaybhan Karvariya, who is serving life sentence in a murder case, will be released early. The prison department has issued a government order for this. After this, the way has been cleared for Karvariya, who is serving sentence in Central Jail Naini, to come out of the bars soon.

In Prayagraj, a case was registered against Udaybhan Karvariya and others in the murder case of former SP MLA Jawahar Pandit in 1996. In this case, he was sentenced to life imprisonment on November 4, 2019. The DM and SSP of Prayagraj had recently recommended the premature release of former MLA Karvariya.

Due to this, people are coming out of jail before time

The decision of premature release has been taken on the basis of good conduct in jail and the recommendation of the mercy petition committee. The order states that if the prisoner is not to be kept in custody in any other case, then he should be released from jail on presenting two sureties and a personal bond of the same amount before the SSP and DM Prayagraj to maintain peace during the remaining period of punishment. At the same time, an initiative was also taken to withdraw the case registered against Karvariya earlier, but the High Court rejected it.

Political equations will change in UP

The release of former BJP MLA Udaybhan Karvariya will change all political equations. He is known as a Brahmin face. BJP will want to take advantage of it in the 2027 assembly elections. Udaybhan, who started his political career with BJP, was successful in his first attempt.

He won the election by defeating the BSP candidate

He kept moving forward in his political journey under the patronage of senior leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi. This was the reason that in the 2002 elections, he was sent as the coordinator of Bara Vidhan Sabha. As soon as the elections were announced, he was made the official candidate of the party. He defeated the BSP candidate. After that, in 2007, the party again expressed confidence in him and made him the candidate. He was successful again. After this, the Bara Vidhan Sabha seat was declared reserved. Because of this, the party made him a candidate from City North in 2012. This time he had to face defeat. His rival Anugrah Narayan Singh was successful.

Warrant issued in 2014, surrendered in court

On August 13, 1996, former SP MLA Jawahar Yadav alias Jawahar Pandit was gunned down in broad daylight in Civil Lines. This was the first time that AK-47s were fired in Allahabad. The Karvariya brothers were accused. Kapilmuni Karvariya, his brothers Udaybhan Karvariya, Surajbhan Karvariya and their relative Ramchandra alias Kallu were named in the case, but the influence of the three brothers kept increasing in politics.

BSP MP from Kapilmuni, Udaybhan became MLA from BJP and Surajbhan became MLC from BSP. The situation changed in the year 2014. Udaybhan surrendered in the court in the year 2014 when a warrant was issued against him.

All three brothers were sentenced to life imprisonment

On November 4, 2019, the court had sentenced four people, including the three brothers, to life imprisonment. The feud between the Karvariya family and former MLA Jawahar Yadav alias Jawahar Pandit had started over dominance over sand contracts. At the same time, MLA and Jawahar Pandit's wife Vijma Yadav says that she will challenge the release of Udaybhan Karvariya in the court.
