Rakesh Tikait: Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has been taken into custody from Yamuna Expressway. He had left home to participate in the Kisan Panchayat being held at Zero Point in Greater Noida, after which the police stopped him at Tappal in Aligarh and took him into custody and took him to the police station. 

Rakesh Tikait was staying at the residence of the vice-president of BKU in Tappal, after which he left in the morning to participate in the farmers' panchayat in Noida. During this, he was also seen walking along the middle of the Yamuna Expressway with other farmers and then after walking a little distance, he sat in a car.

On the other hand, strict security arrangements were made by the police to stop Rakesh Tikait. The police stopped his car on the way and took him out and then took him into custody, during this, an altercation was also seen between the police force and Rakesh Tikait. In protest against Tikait's arrest, other farmer leaders started protesting and blocked the highway, due to which one side of the Yamuna Expressway was completely blocked. 

As the matter escalated, DM, SSP, SP Rural and heavy police force reached there. After which they were taken to the police station. After Rakesh Tikait was stopped, he addressed the farmers' panchayat over the phone. He said that I have been stopped near Tappal police station. If the demands of the farmers are not met, then we will march to Lucknow and not Delhi. During this, he asked the farmers to be ready. 

Let us tell you that a Mahapanchayat of farmers was held in Greater Noida today, in which Rakesh Tikait was to participate. Farmers from UP and neighboring states have also gathered in this Panchayat. A large number of farmers reached to participate in the Mahapanchayat with tractors and trolleys. This Mahapanchayat has been called in protest against the arrest of farmers sitting on a dharna at Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida. Rakesh Tikait has protested calling the arrest of farmers illegal and wrong.
