Rahul Gandhi has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. In fact, the Supreme Court has stayed the proceedings of the lower court in the criminal defamation case filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for alleged derogatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Naveen Jha had filed a case against Rahul Gandhi in 2019 for alleged remarks against Amit Shah.

In this case, the Supreme Court has given relief to the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The Supreme Court has stayed the defamation case going on in the lower court of Ranchi. On Rahul Gandhi's petition, the Supreme Court has issued notice to the Jharkhand government and complainant Naveen Jha.

Rahul Gandhi had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to stop this case.

A bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta has issued a notice to the Jharkhand government and the BJP leader on Rahul Gandhi's appeal and sought their response. Rahul Gandhi has challenged the order of the Jharkhand High Court. The High Court had rejected his petition requesting to cancel the proceedings against Rahul Gandhi in the lower court.
