New Delhi: Criticising the Centre for alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical admissions, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said he himself will raise the issue in Parliament and the opposition will put pressure on the government to ensure justice to the students.
Rahul shared a video of his meeting with a group of NEET aspirants and their parents on YouTube. Along with it, he wrote that the future of lakhs of students is in limbo due to the incompetence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministers. He said that such crime wasted the precious time of the students, lakhs of rupees spent on exam preparation were wasted and most importantly it affected the mental health of the ambitious youth of the country.

The former Congress president said, 'I assure the youth of the country that I am with them against injustice. Congress will protest across the country in the coming days against paper leak and cheating in exams and will ensure justice for them.'
He said that he wants to tell the 24 lakh students affected by the NEET paper leak that Congress is with them from the streets to the Parliament. In the last seven years, 70 papers have been leaked and two crore youth have been affected by it. At the end of the video, Rahul tells the students that if the government does not protect them, the opposition will do so.

Similarly, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in a post on X that the future of two crore youth of the country has been ruined in the last seven years. Congress will raise the issue of NEET in Parliament to get justice for the youth. At the same time, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said in a post on X, 'In the last five years, papers of 43 recruitment examinations have been leaked in the country. During the BJP rule, paper leak has become a national problem of the country which has ruined the future of crores of youth.'
He said, 'Children wait for years for a vacancy to come. When a vacancy comes, money is spent to fill the form, money is spent to appear in the examination and ultimately all efforts go in vain due to corruption. BJP's corruption is weakening the country.'
Congress demonstrated in various states
Congress on Friday protested in various states against irregularities in NEET. In Manipur, workers protested under the leadership of state unit president Kesham Meghchandra. The party's Arunachal Pradesh unit held a sit-in protest in Itanagar under the leadership of state Youth Congress president Tarah Jani. In Goa, the party protested at Azad Maidan in Panaji in which party state president Amit Patkar and leader of opposition in the assembly Yuri Alemao also participated.

Leading the protest in Assam, party state president Bhupen Kumar Bora claimed that states ruled by the BJP and its allies have become hubs of paper leaks and NEET-UG is the latest example. In Telangana capital Hyderabad, the Youth Congress protested outside the residence of Union Minister Kishan Reddy.
