(Anantnag Rajouri Lok Sabha Seat 2024)  PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, in an indirect attack on her party president Altaf Bukhari, on Wednesday said that BJP is supporting the party which is helping Pakistan to finance terrorism in Kashmir. Is involved in bringing money through Hawala.Former PDP leader Bukhari was expelled from the party in January 2019. His own party has fielded Zafar Iqbal Khan Manhas from Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency against Mehbooba and National Conference leader Mian Altaf. Voting on this seat will be held on May 25 in the sixth round of the seven-phase general elections and apart from him, 17 others are in the fray.

The PDP president said the first-of-its-kind attack on tourists in Pahalgam (in which a tourist couple from Rajasthan was injured on Saturday night) should be investigated by focusing on the role of that party. Which had brought a large amount of hawala money from Pakistan for funding.

I don't want to take anyone's name, but if you try to find out, you will know who is behind providing money to terrorists and (separatist) leaders. The connections are still intact and they can use those connections to do anything. Ensure low voting percentage in Kashmir.

Mehbooba was apparently referring to Bukhari, a former minister in the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir in 2015-18. He won the 2014 assembly elections on a PDP ticket and later formed his own party in March 2020 with 31 former MLAs, mostly from the PDP.

Mehbooba reportedly said that I am surprised that the BJP, which is claiming to be a nationalist. Supporting the party which is involved in Hawala funding and has a direct role in the bloodshed. Money sent from Pakistan for terrorism was also used to set up businesses.

He also alleged that voters, especially religious leaders and government employees, were being 'harassed'. Mehbooba said, the central government should not disappoint the youth who are coming to vote enthusiastically instead of using stones or guns.

Mehbooba indirectly accused the central government by saying that the employees are being threatened that if they do not vote for a particular candidate, their promotions will be stopped and they will be transferred, which I believe is true. There is interference in elections.

The Waqf Board (headed by BJP leader Darakhshan Andrabi) is used to intimidate religious people. Mehbooba said she hoped the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) would intervene to ensure that no manipulation is allowed to vitiate the atmosphere on polling day (May 25).

Seeking support from the people, the PDP chief said she would raise all the issues being faced by the people of the region, including the construction of a tunnel along the Mughal Road and a government medical college in Poonch, besides various areas. Putting it on the tourism map.
