Muzaffarnagar. In an encounter with the Nai Mandi Kotwali police, three Nepali criminals carrying a bounty of Rs. 25,000 each were shot and injured. Illegal weapons, looted goods and cash were recovered from their possession.

SP City Satyanarayan Prajapat said that on Thursday night the police received information that some miscreants were roaming around on A2Z road with the intention of committing a crime. The police conducted a checking campaign. Late night three people were seen coming on a bike. When the police signaled them to stop, the miscreants drove their bike towards the link road.

Seeing themselves surrounded, the criminals started firing at the police. In retaliation, all three criminals were injured after being shot in the leg. The police arrested all three and sent them to the district hospital. They were identified as Sunil Khadga resident of Paunesh police station Chaunpur district Bajhang Nepal, Pratap Khadga resident of Paunesh police station Chaunpur district Bajhang Nepal and Ankit Joshi alias Sabin resident of village Dhamale police station Chaunpur district Bajhang Nepal.

SP City said that three lakh cash and jewellery have been recovered from the possession of the criminals. All three are clever criminals and commit robbery and theft by working in people's houses. After this, they go to Nepal with the goods. After a few days, they come back and commit crimes again. The police had announced a reward of 25 thousand each on all three.
