Pitru Paksha is considered important in Sanatan Dharma. It is a religious belief that by performing the Shradh of ancestors during this time, the ancestors attain salvation and the native receives their blessings. According to the Panchang, this year Pitru Paksha will start from 17 September (Kab Se Hai Pitru Paksha 2024). At the same time, it will end on 02 October. In such a situation, before the start of Pitru Paksha, let us know how the Shradh of ancestors is performed.

This is how you should perform Shradh for your ancestors (Shradh Vidhi)

• In Pitru Paksha, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, add black sesame seeds to water and offer it to Sun God.  
•  
• In Pitru Paksha, the offering of water to ancestors should be done in a proper manner.
•  
• Prepare food for the ancestors and offer tarpan. Include whole rice, barley and black sesame seeds in the tarpan.  
•  
• While performing Tarpan, keep your face towards east.
•  
• Finally, offer   food to the ancestors .
•  
• Pray for the ancestors to attain salvation and chant mantras.
