Harsh was a final year graduate student of BN College. Apart from being a brilliant student, he was also very active in politics. He was also the national president of Loknayak Yuva Parishad organization. His activism was also seen in the Lok Sabha elections. He was busy campaigning for NDA candidate Shambhavi Chaudhary from Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency.

Harsh Raj, originally a resident of Majhauli village under Belsar police station in Vaishali district, used to study while living in Boring Road, Patna. BN College graduation examination is going on in Law College.
After the exam was over, Harsh came out of the classroom and was sitting on his bullet bike in the campus when half a dozen attackers attacked him. They beat Harsh badly with sticks. They also hit him on the back and stomach with bricks and stones. They kept beating him till he became unconscious and then fled on the bike.
Harsh was admitted to PMCH in a bleeding condition
On getting information about the fight, his friends reached the law college and admitted Harsh in a bloody condition to PMCH, where he died during treatment. A student called from Harsh's mobile and informed his parents about the incident.
Here, on receiving the information, Patna City ASP Sharath RS reached the spot along with the police from nearby police stations. Information about the incident was collected from eyewitnesses. The FSL team collected evidence from the spot. Dog squad was also called, but no success was achieved.
City SP (East) Bharat Soni said that the reason for the murder is not clear yet. The body has been sent for post-mortem. All angles including political rivalry and mutual dispute are being investigated. CCTV footage is being scanned to identify the accused.
Firing bullets and bombs in front of police is a common thing in college

Seeing Harsh's growing popularity, there was already a feeling of animosity among his opponents associated with student politics, but another reason for the dispute has come to light. Last year, Dandiya Nights were organized on Durga Puja, the main organizer of which was Harsh. He was having a dispute with a group of students regarding this too.
The police is questioning his colleagues about the matter related to the event. Also, the opponents are being traced. The call records of the mobile are being investigated.
Police got hold of 5 and 2 second videos
Late in the evening, the police got hold of two videos. One of them is of five seconds and the other is of two seconds. Both the videos are being circulated rapidly on the internet media. It is seen in the video that as soon as the masked miscreants arrived with sticks, there was a stampede in the campus.
After throwing Harsh on the ground, the attackers were hitting him with bricks. Through this video, the police is trying to identify the accused. At the time of the incident, there were more than 50 people in the campus, but no one came to save Harsh.
Parents broke down after seeing the dead body of their only son
Harsh's father Ajit Kumar is a correspondent for a Hindi daily newspaper (not Dainik Jagran) from Vaishali district. His mother is a housewife. He was the eldest among two siblings. His younger sister was admitted to Intermediate this year. Seeing their son's body on the stretcher at PMCH, the parents started crying inconsolably.
The father said that Harsh wanted to become the president of PU student union. When he refused to contest the elections, Harsh said that till now only pass out students have become presidents. He wants to change history. He was active as a social worker even during the Corona period. He was also popular among the people in Lalganj (Vaishali).
Hearing the news of death, tears are not stopping from the eyes of the old grandparents living in the village. His grandfather is a retired teacher from middle school. One uncle is an advocate in Patna High Court, while the other is a farmer in the village. Aunt Shalu Kumari is currently a member of the Panchayat Samiti.
Nobody intervened
Students who came out after giving the exam said that the fight continued in the campus for about 20 minutes, but the college guards, teachers or staff did not intervene. When the attackers left the campus, the college teachers and other staff came.
CCTV is out of order since last one year
CCTV was installed in Patna Law College campus under the Saat Nischay Yojana. It has been out of order for about a year. Due to this, the administration does not have any footage of the incident. College Principal Vani Bhushan said that last month the university administration was requested to renovate the college.
