Passengers were robbed as soon as the Clone Express going from Anand Vihar to Patna stopped at Daud Khan railway station situated on the border of Aligarh and Hathras due to signal failure. The train also stood there for 15 minutes. In this incident which took place at 2 am on May 7, a passenger from Prayagraj filed a complaint at GRP Central station, the case was sent there for investigation.Aligarh GRP and RPF suppressed the incident. Now after the incident came to light when the victims visited the place, the activities increased. Shakti Tripathi of Prayagraj, who was travelling in coach S-1, filed a complaint in the Central Station GRP police station that someone stole her purse at Daud Khan station in Aligarh. It contained Rs. 6,000 cash, some items and important documents.

Similarly, Kavyansh Jaiswal also complained. Shamim Ansari of Lakhisarai, Bihar, reached his district and filed a report. GRP sent it there on May 7. However, till now more than a dozen old criminals have been caught and questioned. GRP Kanpur Central Station Incharge Inspector Anil Kumar Sharma confirmed that on May 7, a case of missing purse has been registered and sent to Aligarh for investigation but denied having any knowledge of the robbery. He said, it is possible that if the passengers were from other districts, they would have lodged the report there.
