The fast of Papankusha Ekadashi is considered very auspicious. Lord Vishnu is worshipped on this day. According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi is celebrated on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha every month. This year it is being celebrated on October 13 i.e. today. It is said that due to the effect of this fast (Papankusha Ekadashi 2024), all the sins of the devotee are destroyed. Along with this, salvation is attained.

At the same time, those who keep fast on this day, they must recite Ekadashi Vrat Katha, because without it the puja is not complete, so let's read it here.

Fasting story of Papankusha Ekadashi (Papankusha Ekadashi 2024 Ki Katha)

According to mythology, there are many stories about Papankusha Ekadashi , one of which is mentioned here. A hunter named Krodhan lived on Vindhyachal mountain. He was very cruel. His whole life was spent in violence, robbery and bad company. One day suddenly he met Angira Rishi while he was doing penance in the forest. He told Angira Rishi that my work is that of a hunter, due to which I have had to kill so many innocent animals and birds. I have done sinful deeds all my life, so I will have to go to hell.

Please tell me a way by which all my sins are erased and I attain salvation. Hearing his prayer, Maharishi Angira asked him to observe the fast of Papankusha Ekadashi of Ashwin Shukla.

As per Maharshi's advice, the hunter kept a fast on Papankusha Ekadashi and duly worshipped Lord Shri Hari. With the blessings of Lord Vishnu, all the hunter's sins were destroyed. When Yamdoot came to take the hunter to Yamlok, he was surprised to see the miracle that all the hunter's sins were destroyed due to the effect of the fast of Papankusha Ekadashi.

Due to which the messengers of Yamraj had to return to Yamlok empty handed and the hunter attained Baikunth Dham by the grace of Lord Vishnu .
