How much compensation will the Railways give?
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also condoled the death of 13 passengers due to train accident in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra and expressed condolences to their families. According to information received from the Railway Minister's office, a compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh each has been announced to the families of the deceased in the Jalgaon train accident, Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured and Rs 5,000 to those with minor injuries.
Fadnavis also announced compensation
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also expressed grief over the Jalgaon train accident and announced compensation for the families of the deceased. Fadnavis has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the passengers killed in the train accident. Fadnavis, while sending a video message from Davos, Switzerland, said that the state government will bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured passengers.
How did the accident happen?
According to the information received so far, after applying brakes ahead of the railway station in Jalgaon district, sparks came out from the wheels of Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express. Due to this, there was panic among the passengers. During this, some passengers pulled the chain. Some passengers jumped from the train onto the track. These passengers were crushed by the Karnataka Express train coming from the other side.
