Almora Bus Accident: Taking a tough stand on the bus accident in Almora, Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the suspension of ARTO enforcement of the concerned area of Pauri and Almora. At the same time, the Commissioner Kumaon Division has been directed to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident. So far, the death of 36 people has been confirmed in this accident.
A major road accident took place in Almora on Monday. A passenger bus fell into a ditch near Marchula. It is being told that there were 45 people in the bus at the time of the accident. After the accident, there was a stir in the entire area. As soon as the information was received, the rescue team reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started. SSP Almora is also present at the spot, while the Nainital police team also reached there.
The administration confirmed the death of 36 people in the Almora road accident. While three people have been sent to AIIMS for treatment. The rest of the injured are being treated at Ramnagar Government Hospital.
Kumaon Divisional Commissioner Deepak Kumar said that so far 36 people have died. Instructions have been given to give compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured. A team of doctors from AIIMS will come to Ramnagar. SDRF, SDM, administration are present on the spot.
The death toll may increase.
36 passengers have died in this accident while many passengers are injured. The condition of 15 of them is said to be very serious. They have been referred to a higher center for treatment. It is believed that the death toll may increase further. There are reports of some people still trapped in the bus, after which efforts are being made to take them out by cutting the bus.
CM Dhami expressed grief over the accident
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over this accident. He wrote on the x- 'Very sad news was received about the casualties of passengers in the unfortunate bus accident in Marchula of Almora district. The district administration has been instructed to carry out relief and rescue operations with speed. The local administration and SDRF teams at the spot are working rapidly to evacuate the injured and take them to the nearest health center for treatment. Instructions have also been given to airlift the seriously injured passengers if required.
CM Dhami said that a very sad incident has happened in Almora district. People have lost their lives and many people have been injured. All efforts are being made to ensure that the injured get better treatment. Immediately all the officers have been ordered to go to the spot. Strict action will be taken against those who are involved in this incident and those who have been negligent. Our priority is the treatment of the injured. The Chief Secretary is monitoring the entire incident. May the families of the deceased be given the strength to bear the grief and wish that the condition of the injured gets better soon.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the families of each person killed in the accident in Almora, Uttarakhand. The injured will be given Rs 50,000. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi said that my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand. Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is making every possible effort for relief and rescue.
CM Yogi also reacted
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also reacted to this accident. He wrote- 'The loss of life in an unfortunate road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families of the deceased. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured.'
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi also expressed grief over this accident. She wrote that this accident in Uttarakhand is very sad. I pray to God to give peace to all the departed souls and give strength to their families to bear the grief. I appeal to the "AAP" workers in Uttarakhand to cooperate with the local administration to help the injured and the victims.
