'Planned deadlocks' will not solve people's problems: Lok Sabha Speaker Birla

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday said "planned deadlocks" or sloganeering in legislatures cannot solve people's problems and dialogue between the Opposition and ruling parties is the need of the hour. He also said his endeavor in his second term as Speaker would be to increase people's trust in Parliament, and he expected high-level discussions from members of all parties in the 18th Lok Sabha.

Om Birla interacted with local public representatives at an event in Indore Municipal Corporation earlier in the day. He said that I want the House of Indore Corporation to become a model for other municipalities, municipal councils, and panchayats with high-quality dialogues and innovations, because planned deadlock or shouting slogans near the dais of the House will not solve the problems.
