PTI, Ottawa. Four Indians accused of the murder of pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada in June last year were presented jointly for the first time in a Canadian court on Tuesday. The court has ordered all four not to contact people of the community. The next hearing in the case will be on June 25.

After Nijjar's murder, tensions between India and Canada escalated after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau named Indian agencies without evidence in the murder conspiracy. Murder accused Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh were presented in person for the first time in the provincial court of Surrey, while the fourth accused Amandeep Singh was presented through video.

Amandeep is still being held in custody in Ontario, where he was arrested on May 10 on weapons charges. The prosecutor said the Crown will have to fulfill its obligation to present evidence against the suspects by the next hearing on June 25. Those attending the hearing were searched before entering the court, while Nijjar's supporters protested outside.
