Chennai:The NIA in Tamil Nadu on Thursday raided the residence of Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HUT) gang leader Faiz-ul-Rehman in Chennai. Officials said that Faiz-ul-Rehman was arrested from Chennai on Tuesday. The NIA has recovered several electronic devices, documents and illegal items from Rehman's house.

According to NIA, this organization and the suspected terrorists associated with it were getting help from Pakistan Army. The suspects associated with this organization were involved in terrorist incidents in Kashmir. The aim of these suspects was to impose Islamic rule in Kashmir. For which they were hatching a conspiracy. The arrested accused were running a campaign in Tamil Nadu to carry out their agenda. This organization was brainwashing the youth and preparing them to join terrorist organizations like IS.

On Thursday, HuT was declared a banned organisation

The government on Thursday declared Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT), a global Islamist group founded in 1953 in Jerusalem, a banned organisation because it aims to establish an Islamic state and caliphate worldwide through jihad and terrorist activities.

Money was being raised for terrorist activities

The notification issued by the Union Home Ministry said that HUT is involved in radicalizing innocent youth, motivating them to join terrorist organizations like IS and raising funds for terrorist activities. HUT is promoting terrorism using various internet media platforms and secure apps and encouraging innocent youth to join terrorist activities by organizing Dawah (invitation) meetings.

The ministry called it a serious threat to internal security

The Home Ministry said that HuT is an organization whose objective is to establish an Islamic state and caliphate by overthrowing democratically elected governments through jihad and terrorist activities by involving citizens of the country across the world including India. Therefore, this organization is a serious threat to the democratic system and internal security of the country.
