New Delhi. The Supreme Court will hear on Thursday the petitions related to the controversial medical entrance exam NEET UG 2024. The exam was held on May 5. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra will hear more than 40 petitions.

This also includes suits filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA), seeking transfer of cases pending against it in various high courts on the NEET-UG dispute to the Supreme Court to avoid multiplicity of litigation.

The Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing

On July 11, the Supreme Court had adjourned till July 18 the hearing on the petitions seeking cancellation of the exam, re-examination and investigation into the malpractices in the conduct of NEET-UG 2024 as per the Centre's response.

The bench had said this

The bench had said that it has received a status report from the CBI on the progress made in the investigation into alleged irregularities in the conduct of the examination. In an additional affidavit filed in the Supreme Court last week, the Center has said that the data analysis of NEET UG 2024 results was done by IIT-Madras, which ruled out any irregularities.

The petitioners had said this about NTA

The petitioners in their reply said that NTA has tried to mislead the court by filing an incomplete report of IIT Madras with incomplete data and analysis. It has been claimed that out of the top 100 students, 61 students got 720/720 marks but there is no anomaly in the report.
