Jeddah: Over 175,000 pilgrims from India have gathered at the holy Mount Arafat outside Mecca in Saudi Arabia and are busy offering prayers, Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Suhail Ajaz Khan said on Saturday. The Indian Haj Mission, in collaboration with the Saudi Haj Ministry and other service providers, has made all arrangements to transport the pilgrims from Mina to Arafat.This includes their stay in Arafat and their return. Indian officials in Mecca said they are leaving no stone unturned to provide assistance to the pilgrims. All arrangements have been made for the sick Haj pilgrims to reach Arafat, the Indian Haj Mission said in a post on Saturday evening.
24 ambulances and two buses have been pressed into service by the Hajj Mission to transport 54 sick pilgrims from Mina to Arafat. Around 2.5 million pilgrims from across the world, including Saudi Arabia, are expected to perform Hajj this year.
