John Bolton has been criticizing Trump
It is also a coincidence that this action against Bolton came at a time when he had strongly criticized Washington's decision to impose heavy tariffs on India for importing Russian oil.
Trump is unfit to be president- Bolton
Bolton had said, US-India relations are very bad at the moment. It seems that India has been targeted. I want Indians to know that what Trump is doing is not what most Americans think. That is why I believe he is unfit for the post of President.
Trump said this
The source said that this action has been taken in the criminal case of making confidential information of the investigation public. When asked about the raid, Trump said on Friday, I don't know about it. I saw it on television this morning. I am not a fan of John Bolton. He is a really bad person. He may be a traitor. We will find out.
It is noteworthy that Bolton was the National Security Advisor (NSA) during Trump's first term, but later their relationship became sour. According to the New York Post, agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) began searching his house in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, at 7 am local time.
He also wrote a book on his tenure in Trump's first administration
"No one is above the law. FBI agents are on a mission," Kash Patel wrote in a post shortly after 7 a.m., without naming Bolton. Bolton, a former US ambassador to the United Nations, has also written a book on his tenure in Trump's first administration.
Bolton was the national security adviser during Trump's previous administration from April 2018 to September 2019. His book, "The Room Where It Happened", describes Trump as having very little knowledge of foreign policy. It is said that Trump was surprisingly ignorant about how to run the White House, let alone the federal government.
Justice Department sues Bolton
The Justice Department sued Bolton and launched a criminal investigation during Trump's first term, alleging that his book, "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir," contained classified information. A judge rejected the administration's attempt to block the book's publication in 2020. Both the criminal investigation and the lawsuit were dropped in 2021 during the Biden administration.

While FBI agents were at his home, Bolton shared a statement at 7:32 a.m. local time, criticizing the Trump administration's attitude towards the Russia-Ukraine war and saying that there would be no progress in the ongoing talks. Bolton has been constantly criticizing Trump.
After Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last week, Bolton told CNN that Putin had "clearly won" the summit. While Trump "didn't lose," he seemed "very tired" and no meaningful progress was made toward ending the war in Ukraine.
