Rajasthan News: 71-year-old farmer Kishan Baldev of Dholpur lost his life in the stampede that took place at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh last Tuesday night. The victim's family gave this information. Baldev had reached the Maha Kumbh with his family and other villagers on January 28. After taking a dip in the Sangam at four in the evening, he sat on the banks of the river and waited for the holy bath the next day. However, a stampede suddenly broke out at around two in the night.

Recalling that horrific moment, Kishan Baldev's grandson Vishambar Singh told reporters in Dholpur, "People started pushing and running in all directions. My grandfather and mother fell. I somehow managed to pull my mother out, but my grandfather got stuck under people's feet. Many people fell on him one after the other."

Vishambar Singh said, "We tried to pull him out, but by the time we could pull him out, he had become unconscious. We took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead."

Baldev's daughter-in-law Ramvati, who survived the incident, is in shock. With teary eyes, she said, "I still cannot believe what happened. We had gone to seek blessings, but we lost the head of our family." The family received Baldev's body after post-mortem on Thursday, after which the last rites were performed today.

It is noteworthy that the body of a woman who had gone to Maha Kumbh from Kekri in Ajmer district was brought in an ambulance from Uttar Pradesh yesterday. She was part of a team that had gone to Maha Kumbh . Uttar Pradesh police brought her body to her native village.
