Margashirsha month is also known as Aghan month. This month is very dear to Lord Krishna. In Sanatan scriptures, there is a description of bathing in Yamuna river in Margashirsha month. There is a religious belief that bathing in Yamuna river ends all the defects of the person. At the same time, on the last day of this month i.e. Purnima Tithi, the moon remains in Mrigasira Nakshatra. For this reason, this month is known as Margashirsha.

Ekadashi fasting leads to salvation

• In this month, Utpanna Ekadashi 2024 is observed in Krishna Paksha and Mokshada Ekadashi 2024 is observed in Shukla Paksha. Both these Ekadashi dates have special significance. It is believed that by observing Mokshada Ekadashi fast, the person attains salvation. According to the Puranas, Lord Krishna narrated the Geeta to Arjuna on Mokshada Ekadashi.
