Story of Khatu Shyam

The recognition of Khatu-Shyam has spread far and wide today, the story of which is also connected with the war of Mahabharata. Khatu-Shyam who was actually Ghatotkach's son i.e. Barbarik, reached to participate in the war of Mahabharata. Lord Krishna knew that Barbarik could end this war in a few minutes. Then Lord Krishna disguised himself as a Brahmin and asked Barbarik for his head as donation. Along with this, he also gave a boon to Barbarik that in Kaliyug you will be worshiped in the name of Shri Krishna himself. Then Barbarik expressed his wish in front of Shri Krishna that he wants to see the result of this war, then his head was kept at some distance from the battlefield, where the temple of Khatu Shyam Ji is established today.

 

These remains are found

The great battle of Mahabharata was fought between the Kauravas and the Pandavas in Kurukshetra, which is located in Haryana. At this place too, the Archaeological Survey has found many remains of the Mahabharata period such as arrows, spears etc. used in the war. Also, an ancient well is present on the land of Kurukshetra, where Arjun's son Abhimanyu was treacherously killed by creating a Chakravyuh.

 

This is how Bhima and Hanuman ji met

There is a story in Mahabharata, according to which, when Bhima went to Gandhamadana mountain for some work, Hanuman ji was lying on his way, whom he could not recognize. When Bhima asked Hanuman ji to remove his tail, Hanuman ji started saying that you remove this tail yourself. But when Bhima tried to do so, he could not even move the tail. Today this place is known as Hanuman Chatti, which is located about 25 kilometers from Joshimath in Uttarakhand.

The Mahabharata book was written by Rishi Veda Vyas. According to legend, Maharishi Veda Vyas had verbalized the story of the Mahabharata, which was written down by Ganesh ji. In such a situation, a place is found in Uttarakhand, where the cave of Maharishi Veda Vyas, the author of the Mahabharata, is still located. Ganesh ji's cave is also located near it. It is said that Ganesh ji wrote the Mahabharata of Veda Vyas at this place. This place is known as Vyas Pothi.
