During the proceedings of the House, its language will be translated into 6 more languages. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla gave this information on Tuesday. Om Birla said that now the language translation of the proceedings of the House will be done in six more languages ​​including Sanskrit, Urdu and Maithili. Earlier, the language translation of the proceedings of the House was being done in 10 regional languages ​​apart from English and Hindi. 

Translation will be done in these six languages

Om Birla said that it is his endeavor to translate the proceedings of the House into all the 22 recognized languages ​​simultaneously. He said that this will be ensured as soon as human resources become available. The Lok Sabha Speaker said, "Now the proceedings of the House will be translated into Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit and Urdu." He said that the Indian Parliament is the only legislative institution in the world where the proceedings are being translated into so many languages ​​simultaneously. 

DMK MP objects to Sanskrit

DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran objected to the decision to translate proceedings into Sanskrit. He said that according to government data, only 73 thousand people speak Sanskrit in the country, then why is taxpayers' money being wasted. Birla dismissed his objection and said, "Which country are you living in? Sanskrit has been the original language of India. Why do you object to Sanskrit? We are talking about translation into all 22 languages." 

Demand to include Bhojpuri in the Eighth Schedule

Apart from this, the demand to include Bhojpuri language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution was also raised in the Lok Sabha. During the Zero Hour in the House, SP member from Salempur, Uttar Pradesh, Ramashankar Rajbhar said that Bhojpuri language is spoken in eight countries of the world and it is a language spoken in every household of Purvanchal. He demanded from the government that this language should be included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
