The controversy over the arrest of BJP leader CT Ravi, who was arrested for abusing Karnataka minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, is growing. After being arrested from the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan in Belagavi, the police took him to different police stations in the district overnight. Police say that he was to be brought from Belagavi to Bengaluru so that he could be presented before the People's Representative Court, but the media and BJP supporters obstructed their work due to which they could not take him out of Belagavi. According to the latest update, CT Ravi has been kept in a police station in Bhagalkot district. Belagavi City Police Commissioner Ida Martin said that from the law and order point of view, we will not disclose the next location where CT Ravi is being taken. 

BJP leader lodged complaint

Meanwhile, CT Ravi has filed a complaint at Khanapura Police Station in Belagavi against Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Chamaraja Hattiholi, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, Saddam and others for allegedly attacking him (CT Ravi) at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi and trying to kill him.

BJP leaders made serious allegations

BJP leaders alleged that at the behest of Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, the police made CT Ravi roam around all night to harass him. There were also allegations of excesses against CT Ravi at Khanapur station. BJP leaders said that CT Ravi suffered head injuries due to police brutality, but the police made him roam around in different police stations for several hours before getting him treated.

Police replied

Police said that after his arrest, CT Ravi was kept at the Hirebagewadi police station but a crowd of BJP and Congress supporters started gathering there. Fearing a breakdown of law and order, he was shifted from there to Khanapur police station but people started gathering there too, due to which he was taken to different police stations.

Case registered under non-bailable sections 

Let us tell you that BJP leaders will protest in Belgaum today against the arrest of CT Ravi and the treatment meted out to him. Accusing Union Home Minister Amit Shah of insulting Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Congress leaders were protesting in the Legislative Council in Belgaum on Thursday. During this, there was an argument between Women and Child Welfare Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar and BJP leader CT Ravi. It is alleged that Ravi used abusive language against the woman minister. A case has been registered against CT Ravi under non-bailable sections of BNS.
