Every year Jitiya Vrat (Jitiya Vrat 2024) is observed on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. On this day, married women observe fast to get the blessings of good health and long life of their children. This year, there is confusion among people regarding the date of Jitiya Vrat. Jitiya Vrat auspicious time (Jitiya Vrat 2024 Shubh Muhurat)

According to the Panchang, the Ashtami date of Ashwin month is starting on 24 September 2024 at 12:38 pm. Also, the Ashtami date will end on 25 September at 12:10 pm. In such a situation, according to the Udaya date, Jitiya Vrat will be observed on Wednesday, 25 September.

 

When to observe Jitiya fast (Jitiya fast 2024 Paran Vidhi)

Jitiya Vrat Puja Vidhi is observed on the third day with full rituals. After taking a bath in the morning on Ashtami Tithi, offer water to Sun God. The custom of consuming Ragi roti, Ridge gourd, Noni greens and rice during Parana is prevalent since ancient times.

 

Importance of Jitiya Vrat (Jitiya Vrat significance)

There is a religious belief that by observing this fast, the devotee gets the desired result and the child gets the blessing of long life. According to the mythological story, Lord Krishna, the savior of the world , gave all his good deeds to the child growing in the womb of Abhimanyu's wife Uttara and brought it to life. For this reason, Uttara's son was called Jivitputrika. Since then, Jitiya fast is observed every year on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month.
