News Topical, Digital Desk : Shiva is eternal. Without him, world welfare cannot be wished for. Shiva is the protector of this earth and Shiva is the destroyer too. Brahmaji is considered the creator of the universe, Lord Vishnu is considered the protector and destroyer. But, basically there is only one power, who does different tasks for Lord Shiva in three different forms. That original power is Shiva. In "Skanda Purana" it is said that Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva originate from Maheshwar part only. Shiva is the original cause of the universe.
Shiva is Brahma. Shiva's powers appear in his eternal expression, which can be called Vidya and Avidya. In this universe, the power that manifests the transcendental blissful form of God can be called Vidya and Avidya.
Worship of Shivling
We worship Shivling as a form of Shiva worship . Shiva Purana, Linga Purana and Skanda Purana describe Lingotpati in detail. It is said in 'Skanda Purana' that in the current White Varaha Kalpa when the creation of gods ended, animals, birds, humans, demons, Gandharvas all got burnt by the heat of the sun, the whole creation got submerged in water, darkness spread in all directions, then only Shiva was there. He is the eternal element of the creation. He is the reason for creation, existence and destruction. The form of that Shiva is in the form of Jyotirling.
