A massive fire broke out in a firecracker shop in Garhwa district of Jharkhand. Five people died due to suffocation in this accident. Three of the five people who died were children. The firecrackers were kept outside the shop. When they caught fire, the shopkeeper and other people panicked and went inside the shop. Everyone died due to suffocation. 

The case is from Ranka police station area of ​​the district. Prima facie information has been received that five people have died due to suffocation as they were locked in the shop. The police have sent the bodies to the hospital for postmortem. The district administration is taking necessary steps to provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed grief over the incident through social media and wrote, "Sad news has been received about the death of 5 people due to fire in a firecracker shop in Ranka block of Garhwa district. May Marang Buru grant peace to the souls of the departed and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this difficult time of grief. The matter is being investigated by the district administration."
