New Delhi: Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan has stepped down from the Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT. She has been included in another parliamentary committee. Jaya left the membership of the Parliamentary Committee on Communications and Information Technology (IT).

The chairman of this committee is BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. According to the bulletin of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, now Jaya Bachchan will be a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labor, Textiles and Skill Development headed by former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Saket Gokhale will take place

Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale, who was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labor, will now join the Communications and Information Technology Committee in place of Jaya. CPI(M) Rajya Sabha members AA Rahim and R Girirajan, who were members of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs headed by Shashi Tharoor, have now been made members of the Parliamentary Committee on Housing and Urban Affairs.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Jankhar has nominated JDU member Sanjay Kumar Jha and BJP's Dhairyasheel Patil as members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources Department. Jha is also the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture.
