New Delhi: Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani accused the central government of promoting communal politics and said that Hindus and Muslims are brothers, if they are divided then the country will be destroyed. Through the Waqf Amendment Bill, the government is trying to capture the Waqf property and divide the people of the country on the basis of religion. The country will run on the strength of unity of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and not on the politics of hatred and division.

TDP and JDU warned

Calling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and JDU the crutches of the NDA government, Madani said that if the bill is passed, these parties who call themselves secular will not be able to escape its responsibility. It is believed that Jamiat is trying to somehow bring TDP and JDU together on this issue, so that the government is unable to pass the bill in Parliament.

The committee will submit its report in the winter session

The Joint Parliamentary Committee formed on the Wakf Amendment Bill has to submit its report in the first week of the winter session of Parliament. In such a situation, just before the session, Jamiat tried to increase pressure on the central government which is moving forward on this bill and the Uniform Civil Code. At the 'Bharatiya Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan' organized at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Arshad Madani urged TDP's Chandrababu Naidu and JDU's Nitish Kumar to pay attention to the sentiments of Muslims in this matter and said that the parties within the NDA who claim to be secular should keep themselves away from supporting this 'dangerous' law.

Government is running with the support of two crutches: Madani

He warned that if this bill is passed, the BJP-led government at the Centre will not be able to escape responsibility on the 'two crutches' it is running on. TDP's Andhra Pradesh vice-president Nawab Jan alias Ameer Babu, who was present at the event, said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is also against the Wakf Amendment Bill. Madani also attacked Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and said that he wants to bury Muslims.

Compared Hamas fighters with Gandhi-Nehru

While speaking in support of Palestine, Madani lost his temper. He compared the fighters of terrorist organisations like Hamas to non-violent agitators like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru who took part in the country's freedom struggle. He said that if breaking the chains of slavery is terrorism, then Gandhi and Nehru were also terrorists.

Mosques, madrasas and graveyards will be in danger: Rahmani

Muslim leaders from various states including Maulana Saifullah Rahmani, President of Personal Law Board, made it clear that they do not accept any changes in these two matters and interference in the Madrasa matter, they will fight for it at every level. Rahmani said that if the Wakf Amendment Bill is passed, then the existence of mosques, Madrasas and graveyards in the country as well as the identity of Muslims will be in danger. Opposing the provision of the bill regarding showing documents for Wakf property, he said that where are the documents of these hundreds of years old properties now.
