Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant got a setback from the International Criminal Court (ICC). The court had issued an arrest warrant against them. After this, Israel has now told the International Criminal Court (ICC) that it will appeal against the arrest warrant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

Israel has rejected the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant. PM Netanyahu has posted this information on his social media platform X.

PM Netanyahu posted on Twitter, "Israel denies the authority of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and the validity of the arrest warrant issued against the Prime Minister and former Defense Minister. If the ICC rejects the appeal, the US and Israel's friends around the world will understand how biased the ICC is against Israel."

Israel has also requested a delay in the execution of the arrest warrants, which were issued last week, a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said, according to news agency Xinhua.

ICC had issued arrest warrant against Netanyahu-Galant

Recently, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued an arrest warrant against Israeli PM Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, accusing them of crimes against humanity and war crimes. The charges include targeting civilians and implementing starvation policies in Gaza.

Israel asks ICC to delay enforcement of warrant

PM Netanyahu wrote in a post on Twitter that Israel has decided to appeal to the ICC. He also demanded a delay in implementing the arrest warrant. He also said that the ICC warrant is baseless and there is no solid fact or legal basis behind it.

What did the ICC allege?

According to the report, ICC had found PM Netanyahu and Israel's Defense Minister guilty of ordering the Israeli army to deliberately kill Palestinian civilians and preventing international humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, due to which the situation in Gaza kept deteriorating and famine conditions arose there.
