Mpox, which has become a matter of concern worldwide, has now started causing trouble in India as well. Actually, the second case of this virus (Mpox Second Case in India) has come to light here, after which there is a stir about it. It was earlier known as monkeypox. It is a viral disease caused by monkeypox virus, a member of the Orthopoxvirus genus. This disease is quite similar to smallpox, but is less severe than that.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this virus spreads through direct contact with body fluids, lesions on the skin or respiratory droplets of infected persons. It can also spread through contact with contaminated objects, such as bedding or clothing, and infected animals. Therefore, it is important to take care of some important things to prevent it. In such a situation, today in this article we will tell you about some ways to prevent Mpox (Mpox Prevention Tips)-

Keep yourself safe

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and WHO, if the vaccine is taken within 4 days of exposure to the virus, the chances of getting this disease are reduced or its symptoms are less severe. In such a situation, if you want to take care of yourself amid the increasing cases of ampox, then definitely get vaccinated and keep yourself safe. Note that if you have already recovered from ampox, then you do not need to get vaccinated.

Take care of cleanliness

One of the simplest but most effective ways to protect yourself from ampox is to wash your hands regularly. To avoid contracting the virus in any way, wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before eating, after using the bathroom, or after touching a contaminated surface. If soap and water are not available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Do not share your personal things

To avoid ampox, it is important not to share your personal things like towels, utensils etc. with others. Also, if someone around you or at home is suffering from this disease, then avoid sharing things like eating utensils, cups, bedding or towels with them.

Stay away from crowds

If you are at risk of monkeypox, avoid public places and people. Even if you are not at risk, be cautious of others and avoid skin-to-skin contact. If you see symptoms like rashes, pimples, blisters or scabs in someone, stay away from them.
