Pilibhit News: After the video of molestation went viral in Pilibhit, a 17-year-old girl tried to commit suicide by drinking acid due to fear of defamation. The girl has been admitted to the hospital after her health deteriorated. Police have arrested two accused in this case and are taking further action. Police said that this incident happened on November 23 when the girl was going to meet her mother.

City Circle Officer (CO) Deepak Chaturvedi told the media on Saturday that a complaint was received that a minor girl was molested a few days ago and then she was being blackmailed by making a video of the incident. Hurt by this, she drank acid kept at home. The CO said that the police have taken both the accused into custody. One of these accused belongs to another community. Police has also been sent to the hospital in Bareilly and the condition of the victim admitted there is out of danger.

According to the Sungarhi police station, a woman from a village in the area alleged in a complaint given on Saturday that her 17.5 year old younger sister was going to the village on November 23, when a young man working at a clothes shop stopped her sister on the way and molested her by doing obscene acts. The accused's partner made a video of this on his mobile. After this, the accused started blackmailing the minor by threatening to make the video viral. They also threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone about the incident.

According to the police, the victim, hurt by this, drank acid (toilet cleaner) kept in the house late on Friday evening. When her condition deteriorated, the family took her to the medical college, from where she was referred to Bareilly. Sungarhi Kotwali's Inspector in-charge (SHO) Pawan Kumar Pandey raided the place with the police force and took both the accused into custody. A police team has been sent to Bareilly hospital to arrange for the treatment and supervision of the victim, the police has said that the condition of the teenager is out of danger.
