Moradabad News: The pollution control department sealed the illegal brass furnaces which were spreading pollution in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. On the orders of the District Magistrate, the District Environmental Committee conducted a checking campaign to crack down on the operation of illegal furnaces in the area. During this, two units were sealed in the presence of officials. At the same time, the operators of many units running illegally fled from the spot. Officials said that not a single illegal unit will be allowed to operate.

The environmental committee formed on the orders of DM Anuj Singh took action against the furnaces burning e-waste operating illegally in Bhojpur, Lalbagh, Nawabpura, Barwalan, the coastal area of ​​the Ramganga river in Moradabad city. Officials of the Divisional Transport Department, Electricity Department, Municipal Corporation Moradabad, Deputy Pollution Control Board Moradabad conducted a checking campaign with the police force of Kotwali Mughalpura. In the joint intensive checking campaign in the Barwalan area, two units operating illegally were sealed. After which the team reached Lalbagh to check the e-waste furnaces, but seeing the action, the operators running the furnace illegally ran away. 

The action against
these illegal brass furnaces has created panic among brass traders. Most of the brass furnaces in the city are operated on coal only, which are poisoning the air. Mahendra Singh, Assistant Engineer of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, said that the RTO, Municipal Corporation and Electricity Department have also been included in this action. The team has sealed two illegal furnaces operating in the Barvalan area. Mahendra Singh said that this action has been taken because these illegal furnaces were spreading pollution in the environment.
