Before Holi, a private school's order in Basti has created a stir. The school has said that no child will play with colours and neither their parents will organize a party or give money to their children for a party. Protests started just after this directive was issued. Hindu organizations have taken up this issue and have demanded strict action against the school management. Holi, the festival of colours, brings happiness, then how can a private school forcefully impose its agenda on the children studying in the school and their parents.

Everyone was shocked as soon as the notice of the school's order went viral on social media. This decision of the school started being opposed, there was talk of closing down the school which was guarding the freedom of expression. Social worker Chandramani Pandey has protested against the arbitrary order issued by St. Joseph School Jigina Basti not to celebrate the festival of Holi and has demanded that no one has the right to ban the festivals and Choti Tilak Kalawa of the majority Hindu community.

He said that if we being the majority do not stop you from celebrating Christmas, then it does not mean that anyone can question our culture. Chandramani said that any educational institution is for imparting education, it does not have the right to determine our religious beliefs and dates of festivals and to instruct whether to celebrate them or not. Therefore, this act of the school management is definitely not forgivable

Demand arose to stop the operation of the school

By issuing clear instructions in the groups to which information is given to parents and children, children were not only forbidden from celebrating Holi from school to home, park to party, but also an order was issued that if anyone does so, he will be deprived of the examination. Whereas Holi, Diwali, Dussehra are the main festivals of us Hindus. Chandramani Pandey demanded from the District Magistrate Basti and the officials of the Education Department that the recognition of such a school should be withdrawn immediately and its operation should be stopped, otherwise the awakened Hindu society will be forced to protest.

The school management did not say anything

Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh has also strongly opposed this instruction of the school and has demanded withdrawal of the said order and strict action against the school by the administration. We tried several times to take the side of the school but no one from the school management was ready to talk. Whereas the Basic Education Officer said that the matter has been informed and appropriate action will be taken after talking to the school.
