Delhi Chunav 2025: Delhi is going to vote on 5 February, for which the Election Commission is busy preparing. According to the information received from District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Ankita Anand, the distribution of Voter Information Slips (VIS) has started in North-West Delhi district. The objective of this initiative is to ensure that all eligible voters get information about their names being registered in the voter list and be ready to exercise their democratic right on 5 February 2025.

Preparations of election officials for voting

According to information received from election officials, in an effort to encourage every person to vote and to ensure maximum voter turnout, officials have started distributing VIS by reaching every household in the district. These slips contain the voter's name, polling station and other important information, which will make it easier for citizens to locate their polling station and vote without any inconvenience.

Ankita Anand emphasised the importance of this initiative and said, “Distribution of voter information slips is an important step to ensure maximum voter participation. Our teams are working hard to ensure that no eligible voter is left out. We urge all citizens to check their VIS and confirm their details to avoid any problems on the polling day”.

Colour coding facility

Ankit Anand said that colour coding facility has been provided to ensure easy access of citizens to polling booths. The voter who has a slip for voting has a colour marked on it and he can easily identify his booth by the colour of the slip. This is why colour coding facility is provided. The colour of the coding on his slip is the same as the colour of his vote at the polling booth, which he can easily identify.
