Meerut. Actor Arun Govil has now been elected as MP from Meerut-Hapur seat. Meerut region expects him to stay in Meerut and solve the issues of Meerut by maintaining harmony. There will be a triple engine government, so he will be able to solve the problems faced by him. Arun Govil was interviewed regarding these expectations. He says that soon he will make his permanent address public. Airport and solution of traffic jam will be his main issues. Presented here are excerpts from the conversation:

1. There has been an allegation that you will not stay in Meerut after winning the elections? 

I had already said that after winning the election, I will stay in Meerut. I will keep meeting everyone. I stand by that, I will stay in Meerut only.

2. Where will you stay?

I am also making arrangements for permanent accommodation here. Information about this will be made public soon. There will also be an office for regular hearing.

3. What will your issues be? 

Solving local problems, making the city free from traffic jams and making it a smart city is my priority. Traffic jam is a major issue here, so it is my priority. For this, we will try to find a solution through ring road and flyover etc. Meerut has a special need for an airport, for this we will put a demand before the government.

4. What is the meaning of your narrow victory, i.e. you claimed victory by one lakh votes but the victory was reduced to 10 thousand votes, why? You lost in four assembly constituencies, won in Cantt but the margin of victory was less compared to the last assembly elections, what are the reasons for this? How will you overcome this opposition?

It is my good fortune that I became an MP from my birthplace. Victory is important because this seat also contributed to the formation of the Modi government. Claims are made at the time of elections so that hard work is done accordingly. The margin of victory, what was the situation last time and what was the situation this time. Where did I get less votes or where did I get less votes, this will be reviewed by the organization. It was the organization that made me contest the elections. Whatever shortcomings there may have been at any level, efforts will be made to correct them. We will work in harmony with everyone. Meerut-Hapur has to be developed by taking advantage of everyone's experiences.
