Himachal Pradesh News: The blood banks of Himachal Pradesh's capital Shimla are once again facing a shortage of blood. Every time during winters, there is a shortage of blood in hospitals. Patients and their attendants have to face problems due to non-availability of blood.

Major organizations of Shimla help the needy by staying in touch with blood donors. Patients coming to Indira Gandhi Medical College often need blood for surgery and operations. In such a situation, the problems of patients increase due to lack of blood in the blood bank. 

Thalassemia patients also have to face difficulties. When a person is suffering from thalassemia, blood is not produced in the body. It is necessary to give blood transfusion to the patient at an interval of few days. The relatives have to wander from door to door for blood. In such a situation, social organizations have come forward to help the patients. Social workers are giving new life to the patients by donating blood. 

Blood is being collected by organizing blood donation camps

On Saturday, Umang Foundation organised a blood camp and collected 60 units of blood. The NSS unit of Sanjauli College also arranged 40 units of blood from the blood donation camp. Other organisations are also organising blood donation camps. Social organisations are taking donors to the hospital every day by telling them the importance of blood donation. They appealed to people to donate blood.

Social organizations are running awareness campaigns

People are being made aware that donated blood is used in various medical conditions. Blood donation is called Mahadaan. A patient can be given a new life through blood donation. Social organizations are appealing to participate enthusiastically in blood donation camps.
