The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released an update on the possibility of heatwaves and a sharp rise in temperature in various states of India. The IMD said on Friday that the temperature in the Union Territory of Delhi is likely to reach 42 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The IMD has said that by April 6 or 7, the day temperature in some places in Delhi may reach around 42 degrees Celsius.

Heat wave will prevail in these states

The India Meteorological Department has said that heat wave is expected in North-West India for the next 6 days. The areas affected by heat wave include Southern Haryana, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, the maximum temperature is expected to increase by two to four degrees Celsius in many parts of Central and North-West India.
