Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram fainted at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on Tuesday and was hospitalised. Sources said he possibly fainted due to heat after a busy day.

Karti, the 79-year-old former finance minister's son, later said on social media platform X that his father was fine and doctors were examining him.
The incident took place when the Congress leader was attending a prayer meeting at the Sabarmati Ashram. When Chidambaram fainted, other leaders carried him to an ambulance, which took him to the hospital. Earlier in the day, Chidambaram attended an extended meeting of the Congress Working Committee at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial.
