Kanpur. Commercial vehicles of entrepreneurs of Chakeri industrial area and Defence Corridor located in Saadh will not have to face traffic jams. The problem of transportation of the residents of Alaknanda Awasiya Yojana of Kanpur Development Authority will also be solved. To connect this route to Kanpur-Prayagraj National Highway, a four-lane overbridge (ROB) will be built at Chakeri-Chhatmara railway crossing of Delhi-Howrah railway line.
For this, Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation has made a proposal of Rs 135 crore. It has been included in the work plan and sent for government approval. The Chakeri-Chhatmara-Tons road is an important road connecting Saadh-Jehanabad to Mughal Road. The Chakeri industrial area has been developed on this road, but entrepreneurs are not ready to set up industrial units here due to the railway crossing.
Units started shifting to Rooma
The entrepreneurs who had units here have also started shifting to Ruma Industrial Area. The main reason for this is the Chakeri-Chhatmara railway crossing located near Chakeri railway station, which is extremely busy. Passenger, express and goods trains pass through here every few minutes, due to which the crossing is closed repeatedly and the problem of jam persists. At the same time, a defense corridor has been developed in Saadh, where for smooth traffic, Setu Nigam has prepared a proposal to build a 750 meter long four-lane ROB on this crossing, the estimated cost of which is Rs 135 crore.
With the construction of this railway bridge, the entire area will be directly connected to the Kanpur-Prayagraj six-lane highway. Residents of these areas will get benefit Defense Corridor, Saadh, Majhawan, Tons, Chakeri Industrial Area, Alaknanda Residential Area, Highway City, Chhatmara, Narwal, Sajari, Deeppur, Uchri, Chakeri Village, Kuriyan, Pier etc.
PWD has prepared a proposal for a four-lane road for the industrial area, for which land acquisition work is underway. A proposal has been prepared for the construction of a four-lane railway overbridge at Chakeri-Chhatmara crossing on this route, which has also been included in the action plan. The construction of this 750 meter ROB will cost Rs 135 crore. The budget has been sent for approval. -Binay Kumar Sen, Project Manager, Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation.
