Ramnagar News Today: The Forest Department has issued eviction notices to 151 families of Poochdi village in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. Due to this, the people living in the village are confused and are very angry with this decision of the Forest Department. The villagers say that they have been living in this village for many years and they have also been provided basic facilities like electricity and water by the government. In such a situation, the sudden eviction notice has increased the difficulties.

According to the villagers, they have been living on this land for a long time and they have proof of their rights to this land, but now the forest department is saying that this land belongs to them and they have to vacate it. The forest department says that this land comes under the forest area and notices were issued to the people living here many times before, but they were not ready to vacate it,

What did the department say in its clarification?
According to information from the forest department, legal proceedings were already underway against these families and the case was heard in the DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) court. During the hearing, the villagers were asked to produce their documents, but they could not produce valid documents related to their land.

The forest department said that this is why they have been issued an eviction notice. The forest department says that this action is being taken as per the legal process and it is necessary to include this land in the forest area.

This fear is haunting the villagers
On the other hand, the villagers disagree with this decision. They have appealed to the government to protect their rights considering their situation. The villagers say that if they are forcibly removed, they will face a serious crisis of living and livelihood, so they want the government to solve this matter from a humanitarian point of view.

This issue is now slowly gaining momentum. The villagers say that if they are evicted, they will protest against it. On the other hand, the forest department is saying that they are just following the law and this land cannot be kept outside the forest area. Due to this attitude of the department, there is uncertainty about the future of 151 families of Poochdi village. 

The administration has imposed Section 163 in this area, now for the next 2
months, anyone in this area is prohibited from staging a dharna or gathering of five or more people at one place. This is a shocking decision in itself.

After this decision, there is an atmosphere of fear among the villagers. Social activist Manish Agarwal said that in independent India, decisions like those of the British government are being given through officials, such decisions still smell of slavery. Has protesting against officials become a crime in today's time? 

Bulldozers can be run on houses
151 families of Poochdi village have received eviction notices. Now government bulldozers can be run on these people's houses, due to which the villagers were protesting. Now protests have been banned in this area. 

This order has been issued through Ramnagar's Deputy District Magistrate Rahul Shah. After this order came out, the administration is being criticized a lot.
