
Brussels: Governments of the European Union (EU) have agreed to impose sanctions on nine entities, including Iran's Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, for supplying drones to Russia, which is using the drones it gets from Iran in its war against Ukraine.
The EU diplomat said the agreement, called "CORIPER", signed between EU government ambassadors and will be made public after it is endorsed by EU foreign ministers on Monday. The agreement covers nine Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers.
Along with this, Iran's Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani has also been included in this sanctions list. This includes a ban on travel of individuals, confiscation of property of individuals and organizations, and a ban on providing financial resources to listed people and organizations.
