Hyderabad: Unknown miscreants vandalized the pandal of Goddess Durga located in Nampally of Telangana's capital Hyderabad. The idol of the goddess was also partially damaged. Begum Bazar police is investigating the matter.

Added statue of goddess

Assistant Police Commissioner A. Chandrasekhar said on Friday that unidentified persons damaged one of the arms of the idol of the goddess in the wee hours of the morning. However, the idol has been repaired and worship of the goddess is continuing. Police say that investigation into the case is underway on the basis of CCTV footage.

Protest against demolition

Let us tell you that the organizers of the All India Industrial Exhibition Society organized under the Devi Sharan Navratri celebrations protested against this vandalism. They say that everything was fine during the Dandiya program on Thursday night. Probably the miscreants have vandalized the Puja pandal by damaging the CCTV cameras after cutting off the electricity late at night. The organizers suspect that all this has been done under a well-planned conspiracy.

Second incident within two months

It is being said that the guard had gone to the washroom when the miscreants carried out this activity. They say that the miscreants damaged the statue and threw the saree and other material on the ground. This is the second such incident in less than two months. Earlier, the Bhulakshmi temple was vandalized on August 27.

BJP warned

Meanwhile, BJP leader Madhavi Latha visited the pandal and said that such activities have been happening in the Puja pandal for the past few years. If this continues, she will not sit silent. She said that now the time has come for all Hindus to give their strong reaction to such vandalism. Probably the attackers are thinking that they will break us. But they are uniting us by carrying out such activities again and again. I warn them.
