Arvind Kejriwal On BJP: Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday (26 October) made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party. He accused the BJP of plotting the attack on him during his 'padyatra' in Vikaspuri, West Delhi a day earlier. The AAP chief has challenged the BJP to prove its strength by contesting the assembly elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that Arvind Kejriwal was allegedly attacked by BJP goons during his 'padyatra' campaign on Friday. Reiterating AAP's claims, Arvind Kejriwal said at a rally in Badli in northwest Delhi, "On October 25, the BJP used its goons to attack me in Vikaspuri. They asked, do you want to kill me?
'BJP will stop the free scheme'
If you have the strength, then contest the elections. He has appealed to the voters of Delhi not to vote for BJP. He also claimed that BJP will stop all the free schemes provided by him.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the people of Delhi have to decide whether they want to vote for those who work or those who stop work. The padyatra in Vikaspuri was part of a series of rallies being held by AAP leaders across Delhi ahead of the assembly elections. Assembly elections are likely to be held in February 2025.
Police connivance behind the attack- AAP
Meanwhile, other senior leaders of AAP have also intensified their attack on BJP and accused it of a deep conspiracy to finish Kejriwal. AAP leaders have warned that if anything happens to the former Chief Minister, BJP will be responsible for it.
Addressing a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the complicity of the police in the Vikaspuri incident clearly points towards a deep conspiracy to kill Kejriwal. The BJP has become the enemy of his life. However, the AAP leader said that despite the Vikaspuri incident, Kejriwal will continue to do the padyatra as per the scheduled programme.
When asked why AAP did not lodge a complaint regarding the alleged attack on Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh replied that if the police had been impartial, this incident would not have happened. He claimed that police officials did nothing to stop the attackers belonging to the youth wing of BJP. He said that AAP is taking legal opinion on this matter. Singh said that the police can take cognizance of the incident and start an investigation.
