Uttarakhand News: Regarding the strong land law in Uttarakhand, the state government has taken major action in Betalghat block of Nainital district. In Siltona of Betalghat block, 27.5 naali land occupied in the name of Bhavni Singh, wife of Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, MLA of Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2007, has been handed over to the state government.

Revenue department officials took possession of the land on Friday. According to information, UP MLA Raja Bhaiya had bought 27.5 Nali land in the name of his wife Bhavni Singh from local resident Anand Ballabh in Siltona of Betalghat in 2007. But due to no farming work being done on 0.555 hectare land for a long time, Patwari Ravi Pandey inspected the land on Friday along with regional public representatives and villagers.

Subsequently, in violation of section 154 (4) (3) (b) of the ZALR Act 1950, as there has been no agricultural activity on the land for a long time, the land has been vested in the state government under section 167 till June 25, 2024. The patwari took possession of the land on Friday in the presence of representatives.

Kainchi Dham SDM VC Pant said that the lands purchased in the tehsil area are being investigated. If any flaws are found, appropriate action will be taken. Along with this, he said that the land in the name of the wife of the UP MLA has been handed over to the state government.
