Deepotsav 2024: Yogi government's preparations for Deepotsav are in the final stage. Prof. Pratibha Goyal, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, has deployed a huge team on 55 ghats of Saryu to make Deepotsav-2024 historic. More than 30 thousand volunteers are decorating 28 lakh lamps on the ghats under the supervision of more than two thousand supervisors, coordinators, ghat in-charges, deep counting and other members.
On the day of Chhoti Deepawali on 30 October, a new world record will be set by lighting 28 lakh diyas with oil and wick late in the evening. On the other hand, the ghat in-charge and coordinator are providing guidelines to the volunteers from time to time. For the world record of Deepotsav, 30 thousand volunteers have been engaged from 14 colleges, 37 inter colleges, 40 NGOs including Ram Manohar Lohia University campus.
A block of 16 x 16 30 ml diyas is being made by volunteers on 55 ghats of Saryu, in which 256 diyas are being laid. On the day of Deepotsav, 30 ml mustard will be used in 30 ml diyas. The work of laying diyas will be completed by 28 October. The diyas placed on the ghats will be counted from 29 October. On 30 October, a world record will be created by putting wick, oil in the diyas placed on the ghats and lighting them.
Volunteers deployed
Similarly, 565 volunteers will be deployed for 48,000 diyas at Ghat 3 and 718 volunteers will be deployed for 61,000 diyas at Ghat 4. Volunteers will be deployed on all 55 ghats in the same manner according to the number of diyas. Volunteers from various colleges and institutions will participate in the event with full enthusiasm and ensure proper arrangement of diyas on the ghats.
Nodal officer of Deepotsav, Prof. Sant Sharan Mishra said that the preparations for this Deepotsav to be held on October 30 are in their final stages. The consignment of diyas has started arriving on the Ghats from October 24 and the work of laying diyas on the Ghats will also start from October 25. The distribution of I-cards of volunteers has also started, out of which more than 15,000 I-cards have been distributed to the officials of the institutions. I-cards will be made available to all the institutions by Friday.
